FEELING DIGITAL
The "Effzeh" represents the heart and soul of the largest city on the Rhine and symbolically represents the "Cologne attitude to life" for many of its fans. The club is also an important economic factor for the sports city of Cologne - its partners and sponsors form the largest business network in the Rhineland. For almost 10 years, we have been the digital lead agency on FC's side and are the first point of contact for all digital processes.
Assignment
As the agency responsible for the digital platforms FC.de, FC-TV, App, Liveticker, Fanclub and member administration, we are in regular contact with our customers and work continuously on further developing digital processes and keeping FC state-of-the-art. Finally, the relaunch of the live ticker should show that the club is not only noticeably different in its values and tradition, but also on its platforms.
Timeline
We support FC with our full range of services across all projects: from strategic and technical consulting, concept, layout and creation to technical implementation in the frontend and backend. The website FC.de, which is based on TYPO3, is constantly being further developed by us. We set up the FC-TV video platform as an independent front-end application, which we recently converted to a new hosting system that makes content such as interviews and exclusive reports even easier to use and maintain. The FC App as the most important information channel for the fans was completely conceived by us three years ago and is now, of course, continuously maintained and further developed. It contains various features such as the head quiz and the matchday mode, with which the app switches to live mode on match days. Last but not least, you can even pay for the Stadionwurst with the app. Native developed it has a complex substructure with various interfaces, which makes the numerous functions possible and provides the app with relevant information.
The FC Liveticker was implemented by us as an individual development in which the frontend based on Node.js works independently of the editorial backend. Both interfaces offer optimal conditions for the respective user groups (users and editors). The ticker is connected to different data feeds, through which lists and statistics can be directly integrated. With the option of playing out individual image material and graphics, the ticker also satisfies emotional demands. Here even 360°YouTube videos can be integrated, with which fans can immerse themselves directly in the training events when using VR glasses, for example. The integration of a social media feed makes the fast, cross-channel distribution of postings possible. And the most important thing: No more Reload! The live ticker has a permanent socket connection, which creates a unique chat experience with which fans can follow the news of the editors directly. The entertainment factor is provided by the integrated ink machine with counter, which sounds "Come on FC" in your own living room. The admin interface was tested and optimized together with FC editors - even on the touch screen, optimal usability and user experience are guaranteed. And: Even with network problems, messages remain stored and content is not lost. This allows editors to concentrate on the essentials: The stadium experience can be transported quickly and conveniently to the fans during the matches.
Result
The live ticker was awarded the German Prize for Online Communication 2018 (silver in the category "Sport"). In addition to the development of the digital platforms FC.de, FC-TV, App, Liveticker, Fanclub and member administration, we also integrated various interfaces (e.g. Salesforce) into the individual systems, with which data can be transferred to campaign tools and push messages can be sent. Such an extensive volume of content and data on different platforms requires an experienced partner who acts as a technical basis, bundles data and interfaces and channels them appropriately. With our agile way of thinking and working, we are always in a position to react quickly and efficiently to the demands of the football business. We are proud to have been providing FC with integrated support for over a decade now, enabling smooth processes and advancing its digital processes.
